Ensure the engine is on the compression stroke, not the exhaust stroke. Wiggle the rocker arms with your fingers; they should have a slight amount of play. If they are tight, rotate the flywheel a full 360 degrees back to the "T" mark.

Rotate the flywheel to the (TDC). The circle mark stamped on the cam sprocket face must point directly forward, aligning with the index notch on the front edge of the cylinder head cylinder housing. 152fmh engine service manual
