: Remuneration is divided clearly by school levels. Primary teachers receive ₹16,000, secondary teachers get ₹18,000, and higher secondary (junior college) teachers get ₹20,000 per month.

The Shikshan Sevak scheme was introduced by the Maharashtra government to recruit primary, secondary, and higher secondary teachers on a probationary basis. Under this policy, selected candidates must serve a mandatory three-year temporary period before gaining permanent status as full-time teachers. : Three years of continuous service.

According to the 2007 Amendment Act, every person appointed as a Shikshan Sevak is on probation for three years. Upon successful completion of this period, they are deemed to have been appointed and confirmed as a teacher.
