Battle B-Daman: Fire Spirits! was a direct sequel, keeping the momentum of the toy-selling franchise alive. The series was animated by and directed by Mitsuo Hashimoto . The series composition was handled by Katsumi Hasegawa , who was also responsible for writing the scripts for Episode 1 and 2. Episode 1, "Wishes for the Stars," does not waste time on lengthy exposition. The episode opens with our hero, Yamato, now looking slightly older and wiser, embarking on a journey into the B-DaWorld in search of his first Strike Shot. His search quickly leads him to a local B-Da battle arena where a competition is being held. As expected, Yamato enters the fray. Despite the fierce competition, Yamato's refined skills with his legendary B-Daman, the Cobalt Blade, are too much for his opponents.
