Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 (Japanese: ヤマトよ永遠に REBEL3199) is a Japanese animated film series and the direct sequel to Star Blazers 2205 . It's a reimagining that fuses elements from two classic 1980 films: Be Forever Yamato and Space Battleship Yamato III . The series is set in the year 2207 AD, two years after the events of 2205 , when a mysterious object known as the "Grand Reverse" appears over Earth and easily overruns the planet's defenses.
This series is part of the Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato remake project, which began in 2012.
