The narrative follows the Buddhist monk Tang Sanzang (Feng Shaofeng) and his three protectors—Sun Wukong (Aaron Kwok), Zhu Bajie (Xiao Shenyang), and Sha Wujing (Him Law)—as they accidentally enter the Woman's Kingdom of Western Liang. In this isolated land, men are viewed as "poisonous" and are forbidden by ancient law. The conflict arises when the young Queen (Zhao Liying) falls in love with Tang Sanzang, forcing the monk to choose between his personal feelings and his divine mission to retrieve sacred scriptures in India.
