Instead of manually navigating complex menus on a tiny radio screen—or on displayless "black box" radios—the software provides a visual, desktop-based graphical user interface (GUI). Through this interface, system administrators can read the radio's current internal data, modify systemic parameters, and write the updated configurations back to the device's non-volatile memory. The dialogue box that appears shows all available features in the "Feature Set" field, with corresponding product codes in the "Feature Code" field. Clicking the button reveals the status of each feature—whether enabled or disabled—in the "Status" field.
