KitKatClub was born at the height of the techno movement in Berlin-Kreuzberg, founded by Austrian pornographic filmmaker Simon Thaur and his life partner, Kirsten Krüger. The name itself is a homage to the legendary Kit Kat Club from the musical "Cabaret," which was set in the decadent Berlin of the 1920s and 1930s, immediately establishing a link to the city's history of boundary-pushing nightlife.
