It tells the story of three childhood friends—Dean (Zac Efron), JT (Andrew Santino), and Wes (Jermaine Fowler)—who, after a prank gone wrong as kids, invent an imaginary friend named Ricky Stanicky to take the blame. They continue using the nonexistent "Ricky" as the ultimate scapegoat for their bad behavior for twenty years.
